Pulling it all together
Just a bunch of random thoughts today... all swirling around in my head.
I had the day off yesterday, as I do (most) every Monday. That was fortunate because it rained for about 23 hours of the day. And not just a little sprinkle... no, a downpour so heavy I must have looked at the skylight 12 times to assure myself that it was not leaking. I'm a fair-weather person. It's all in the name. So though I did have quite a few plans, things to accomplish, yesterday, I never left the house. I don't regret that.
I wasn't a complete loner. My massage therapist was over for an appointment. I social-networked. But in the remaining time, I sorted through Matt's giant stack o' receipts which remains a bone of contention for me. Must be like me leaving my water glasses everywhere... why keep a receipt that shows you spent $1.85 in the office cafeteria for breakfast? It's not deductible! So anyway... I also managed to wrangle all of our clean laundry into our assorted closets and dressers. It is a small miracle that we have 2 closets in our master bedroom... in a ROWHOUSE. Mine is a rather spacious walk-in, organized to have double-hung rods on each side and storage for approx. 100 pairs of shoes, of which I actually wear about 20. I did put about 20 pairs in the donation box though! His is about 1/4 of the size, with no storage whatsoever. and no light either. I did graciously hang some of his extra thick sweatshirts in my closet so as not to crowd his clothes any further. That closet really needs a re-do.
The rest of the day I looked mournfully at my unplanted geraniums and monitored my seedlings which were desperate for sun in that window they sit in. The cats were listless. I mastered Tetris Battle on facebook. And the Sex and the City dvd was played twice. Apparently if you don't hit stop, it plays again. I left it on. I needed the company.
Back at the office today, now that the sun is out. Sigh.... oh well, this weekend promises to be beautiful again! Dad is in town now and we're meeting for dinner tonight in DC. He'll be in Baltimore from Thursday-Sunday. I can't wait to see how much we can accomplish this trip!
The spring sweep day on Saturday had us cleaning up trash, planting wooly thyme ground cover in tree pits, and teaching the neighborhood kids about weeds. It was great. My hair lightened a little in the sun.... blast... I may actually REALLY be a blonde... now that I've tried to not be. My sunburn is mostly healed now. I am once again reminded of how much I love living in Patterson Park. I have the best neighbors!
I'm in a remarkably good mood for a Tuesday!
