I think the term for it is "Nesting"

We've spent the whole weekend on our house. We planted flowers on the patio, cleaned the living room, and then we bought two major pieces of furniture!!!

We started out yesterday looking for a shallow yet tall bookcase to use as a pantry in the kitchen. We found one at Lowe's and brought it home, happy, but this morning when we opened the box to assemble it, several of the parts were damaged, so back in the box with it... and back to Lowe's. We were planning to head to Ikea after lunch, but Matt remembered Jarrettsville Furniture, where we bought our dressers, so he drove us into the country. Didn't find a bookcase, but we DID find a china cabinet... at HALF price! I've been looking for months and couldn't find anything remotely close to the price we were looking at, and it was GOOD furniture, plus they offer free delivery... even all the way to Baltimore. So we bought it and left happy.

Then we went by Ikea anyway and I was happy to note that the Billy bookcase had been redesigned since the last time I bought one. The ones I have upstairs have visible assembly hardware on the outside and I did NOT want that. But now they don't! So we picked out a tall Billy with glass doors and now we have a glass-enclosed pantry in our kitchen! Woo hoo!!! I may put some decorative paper behind the glass, or possibly frost them, because I'm not exactly trying to display the cat food and pasta sauce, but it's nice not to have the dust. A friend put wallpaper in hers and it looks GREAT, so a project like that might be in order.

So now our house is a lot better than it was on Friday, and we're completely exhausted. Maybe in August we can tackle the office. This was our last free weekend of July.
