They still don't know why, but it's fixed

Today Matt called the Department of Taxation, the Environmental Control Board, and the Department of Sanitation about the mysterious bill. Nobody could tell him anything and said they'd "call back". Yeah right. He then emailed our Councilman's office... which earned a call back from the Environmental Control Board who originally said it "wasn't their area". Seems having Councilman Kraft's office on the phone gets the right level of response! The $50 fine has now been rescinded and there is no longer a lien on the house! whew! Thank you to Councilman Kraft and his wonderful office staff! This isn't the first time they've helped us and we really appreciate it.

Nobody knows exactly why it happened, but they're saying it was just an error. Seems they entered Matt's name in the wrong box or something. Nice to know they have data integrity over at the old City Hall. So if you ever get a mysterious bill, don't just accept it! Even if mockery ensues.
