My run-in with the bloggers!

Ok, time for my recap...

Snay talked me into going to happy hour, but as I was heading out of the house last night, I asked Matt "why are we doing this?" He hadn't wanted to go, but I had talked him into it, so he talked me back into it, and we went. I have no idea what I was worried about. It was fine. It was even fun! Great to meet so many of my fellow bloggers and it was kind of creepy that I knew so much about everyone that I was just meeting.

Broadsheet was the first to greet us. She was awesome. I totally have a girl crush on her now. That pashmina with the fur trim... wow. Alas, I didn't get much time to chat with her thanks to her legions of fans, but I hope I run into her again.

I recognized Charissa straight off thanks to her frequent photo postings, but I was surprised to hear how she prononced her name because I always thought it was KA-riss-a. It's not, but I'll keep the actual pronounciation to myself to cut down on her number of stalkers.

Speaking of stalkers... had a good chat with Anger Hangover about hers. Yikes! She has effectively nipped it in the bud thanks to the guys at Walter Reed hopefully throwing him into the brigg. Lovely girl, not nearly as angry as I thought. And fabulous eyebrows! I must go back to her post on threading and get the referral!

I recognized Jamaila from Ancestral Pile immediately as well, actually sort of surprised her as I called out her name. I read her blog all the time because she's so freakin' handy! I've gotten lots of good tips! She's really fun, though she did tell me that I was better off staying engaged rather than getting married. Sorry, can't listen to you on that one! I've already put down deposits!

Luckily, Anonymous Co-Worker (ACW) stepped in and said it wasn't any different than living together. I don't know yet if he's full of shit, but it was nice to hear. Mr. Dollar, complete with hawaiian shirt and fez, concurred that it wasn't so bad. And I'm here to say that Mr. $ was all I hoped he'd be! He promised to wear a kilt to the next gathering, along with the hawaiian shirt and fez.

Geisha surprised me. I really didn't want to like her because some of her postings make me want to say "get some self-esteem!" but that's kind of the point, I suppose. She's built her character and she's acting it out just fine. Now that I've met her, live and in the flesh, I like her. A bit shy, but a nice girl all around, and pretty funny too... and yes, I'm glad she finally got to meet AngHang!

I was totally taken with Cosmic Shambles but for all the wrong reasons... He reminded me so much of all the smart, tortured, sensitive, sweet artistes I swooned over pre-Matt. Oh, he's totally swoon-worthy. Single girls take note! Of course, judging by his blog, he doesn't really sound like he's completely unattached. Matt was fascinated by his Morrissey t-shirt though, so if I suggested we meet up with him again, it wouldn't arouse suspicion, and he does live rather close.

Oh, and our fabulous host, Snay... no, you weren't that scary, and I was surprised to find that you do NOT smell like pizza! I'd say you smell like Febreeze, but in fact, Febreeze doesn't smell, so you smelled like nothing! Fab to finally meet you! And yes, once you figure out where I live, you can come over any time! ;-)

To everyone else, I hope I get to talk to you more next time! Let's do it again soon!
